Physical Description Lean with well-defined muscles, Harper has waist-length, fine black hair, that practically defies any attempt to curl and resists knotting. She has expressive eyes that change color, sometimes slightly, sometimes radically. Harper has a strong sense of personal style, though somewhat eclectic, and wears a wide variety of outfits when she's off duty.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Sensual with a well developed sense of humor and fun, Harper lives in the moment and is extremely aware of herself and her surroundings. Having grown up within the Deltan culture, Harper enjoys the intricacies of emotions, sensations, and is in some respects, quite open and frank. For the most part, she is practically fearless and entirely uninhibited.

And yet, growing up on Turkana IV has left a mark on her. She can be evasive when asked about her past and somewhat enigmatic. She fears the kind of cruelty she knew back on Turkana IV and more than anything, the vulnerability that made her easy prey in the horrific months after her parents died.

She enjoys physical activity - and works out every day unless on an assignment. She is tough and capable in a fight, skilled at surviving, and determined to get the job done no matter the cost. She has a strong need to be there in the middle of the action and fears, above all else, not getting there in time.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths:

Age of 14: Taken from Turkana IV. Her Grandparents financed a rescue operation. Harley is brought to Delta. Begins therapy to help her process everything that happened to her.

Details:
Harper has led an unusual life. Her parents were altruistic, dedicated, health-care professionals who lived and worked in places where the need was great, often under fire. Two years before Harper's birth, her parents volunteered for a risky assignment on Turkana IV and it was there that Harper was born. The medical center was open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and her parents often worked long hours, leaving Harper in the care of a local caregiver during infancy. As much as was possible, given the location and work schedule, her parents brought Harper up within the Deltan culture, much to her maternal grandparents dismay. To care for her while they were working, her parents hired a gruff Klingon half-breed, named Marvok, to act as a combination bodyguard and tutor; through him, she learned many valuable lessons, not all of which came from books. From an early age Harley possessed an affinity to and interest in music. She made friends among the locals and through those friendships, received an impressive education in survival/combat and street smarts.

At the age of ten, Alliance forces attacked the medical center to execute wounded Coalition members. Her parents were killed during the attack as was Marvok. Harper, who had been with friends at the time, was taken into the Coalition. Her grandparents, on both sides, gathered funds and eventually organized a successful rescue attempt. The decision regarding where to bring her was hotly debated between the grandparents; finally, owing to Daltyn Lau's ambassadorial duties, the decision was made to send Harley to Delta.

At the age of 18, Harper Dane enrolled at Star Fleet Academy.
Service Record Age of 19: Harper enters Starfleet Academy.
Age of 23: Harper graduates Starfleet Academy in the top five percent of her class. Harper is assigned to the USS Berlin as an Engineering Officer. Oath of celibacy waived since she is only half Deltan.
Age of 26: Promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer, USS Berlin.
Age of 28: Transferred to the USS Black Hawk as Chief Engineer
